The Testing Methods Construction Projects Buy Most
On a steel package, the method mix is predictable — and knowing it up front keeps inspection off the critical path:
Structural weld acceptance → CWB visual inspection to CSA W59, with MPI confirming anything the eye questions
Full-penetration welds (moment connections, column splices) → shear wave UT where drawings demand volumetric proof
High-strength bolted connections → torque and tension verification, documented per connection group
Member conformance → dimensional inspection against shop drawings, in the shop while correction is cheap
Suspect or aging steel in renovations → UT thickness for section loss plus MPI crack detection at fatigue details
